Alex Tabor, "The Fabled Innocence"

The Southern Missouri Arts Connection (SMAC) will host a solo exhibit featuring the work of artist Alex Tabor, entitled The Fabled Innocence. The show will run December 5-29 at the SMAC Art Center, 7 Downing Street, in historic Hollister, MO. 

The exhibit is an illustrated short story, told through a narrative collection of twenty-nine digitally produced artworks of various sizes, culminating in the final poster sized image. “The show is an introspection of the internal dialogue that we all seem to have when we recall our past,” says Tabor. “It conveys the nostalgic longing for a ‘simpler’ time in life, but does that time actually hold the comfort we’re hoping to feel again?”

Reminiscent of classic newspaper style comics, Tabor’s work uses a limited color palette of blacks and greys, accentuated with pops of bright color. The exhibit will appeal to all ages with its charming childlike characters in contrast…
