Ceramic Lantern Workshop with Julie Zetina

Participants will be designing a one-of-a-kind, functional ceramic lantern... perfect for any holiday table.  Your ceramic vessel will be wheel-thrown and prepared prior to class so that it is in the perfect state for carving.  Students will select one of the many vessels provided, then receive guided instructions using various tools for cutting holes into the semi-soft clay.  No prior experience with clay is required for this class; all levels are welcome. Julie will then offer options in how you would like your vessel to be glazed.  All work will be fired off-site and returned to the SMAC center for pick up December 14 from 6-7pm.

This class meets once and is limited to 12.

Disclaimer: Vessels are not cast from molds, all work is wheel-thrown and pulled one at a time, therefore there will be slight variations in size and form; all forms will be one-of-a-kind, ensuring each piece is unique and special.  There are no refunds for this class as materials must be purchased and work prepared in advance. Tickets, however, are transferable.
