About the event
Come “play in the clay” and explore Ceramic Plate Making with instructor Julie Zetina! This 2-part class also incorporates fun and creative sculpture techniques. During session 1, participants will use durable stoneware clay to shape and fashion plates. Next, unique and personal designs will be added choosing from several options including: nature-printing, impressing patterns using tools & stamps, and imprinting letters or special words. Plates will be left at SMAC to dry, then bisque fired in Julie's kiln.
During session 2, plates will be glazed similar to the examples shown. Once again the plates will be kiln fired to become fully functional, dishwasher and microwave safe ceramic plates! Please note: if you are unable to attend the glazing session, your work will be left in the bisqueware state.
Plates will be returned to the Art Center for pick up at a time and date to be announced in class and on…
