The Southern Missouri Arts Connection (SMAC) will host a solo exhibit of the work of artist Gabrielle Schenck entitled Chroma. The show will run September 5-27 at the SMAC Art Center, 7 Downing Street, in historic Hollister, MO.
This exhibit is a collection of intriguing oil paintings on canvas and panel that explore the closeness of memory and intimacy through color and form. “The imagery lingers between the natural and the personal, between twisted roots and human embrace,” says Schenck, “between the pulse of heat and the quiet stillness of memory.” Each piece invites the viewer to reflect on the powerful feelings of closeness.
The opening reception will be on Friday evening, September 5, from 6-9 p.m. Both the exhibit and reception are free and open to the public. Attendees may view the exhibit, tour the private studios, and enjoy complimentary refreshments. Vintage Paris Coffee kiosk will also be on…
