Julie Zetina’s Nature Print Ceramic Plate Workshop was such a success she is offering it again. You won’t want to miss this popular workshop, so register early.

On the first night, Tuesday, May 7, 6-8 p.m., art instructor Julie will take you step-by-step into how to create a functional, one-of-kind ceramic plate. She will provide everything you need for this class, including a selection of plant materials that you may use to “print” into the clay to create a nature design. Results will vary because we are creative folk with our own unique way of doing things. (examples in advertising are indicative of what final results will be, but not an exact representation.) If you have leftover clay, you may make an additional ceramic piece, if you like. All work will remain at SMAC until they are bone dry, and then Julie will take the pieces off-site to bisque fire in her kiln.

On the second night, Tuesday, May 21, 6-7:30 p.m., Julie will demonstrate different glazes that you can apply to get the right look for you. Once the trays are glazed, Julie will take them to be fired again. Pick up date and time will be announced in class. All materials, instruction, firings, and transportation to and from the kiln are included in the workshop fee of $45. (Thanks to a generous grant from the City of Hollister Parks and Recreation Department, Hollister residents only pay $22.50) Tickets are non-refundable, but may be transferred to another person.  Class size is limited to 12, so sign up early.
