Spring Mosaic Planter Workshop with Julie Zetina

Date and Time: Thursday, April 11 & Friday, April 12, 6-7:30 p.m.

Location: SMAC Art Center, 7 Downing Street, Hollister, MO 65672

Experience level: Beginner to Advanced. Open to ages 12-adult. (Children 11 and under may take the workshop if accompanied by an adult.)

Fee: $55 per person (Hollister residents $27.50)

This year front porches will look mighty spiffy with a new mosaic planter that you design yourself in the Spring Mosaic Planter Workshop with Julie Zetina on Thursday, April 11, 6-7:30 p.m. Julie will have a variety of planters that she has personally hand thrown on her potter’s wheel–all made from durable, high-fire stoneware that is weather-resistant. They will be of varying shapes and sizes. from which you may choose.  On the first night, Julie will show you how to adhere stained glass and small ceramic pieces, along with other assorted goodies to your chosen planter. All materials are included in this workshop, but you are also encouraged to bring your own items for potential use in your design. Small items with flat backs work the best.

Your design will look unique to you. Any samples shown are for promotional purposes only. Your planter will have your own personal stamp on it. The adhesive will dry overnight, so your planter will be ready for grouting on the next evening (same time).

If you cannot make the second night of the workshop, you may take your planter home at the end of the first night. Julie will supply you with grout to use at home, or you may send a friend in your place.

The workshop fee is $55/person non-refundable. You may transfer your ticket to someone else if you are unable to make it. Thanks to a generous grant from the City of Hollister Parks and Recreation Department, Hollister residents only pay $27.50.  Class size is limited to 12 so sign up early.
