About the event
Transform an outdated vessel into Old-World style pottery in this unique upcycling workshop! Instructor Alice Stimson will guide participants to achieve a richly sculptural and timeworn finish on an ordinary vase. Learn to create an authentic feel of hand-thrown stone or ancient clay surfaces using artistic techniques to apply everyday materials like joint compound, baking soda, and paint. Get creative and discover the rewarding pleasure of repurposing!
Each participant will create two unique pieces to treasure, choosing from a variety of glass or metal vases provided by Alice. The process can be messy, participants are encouraged to dress appropriately and bring an apron. All materials are safe and water soluble. Gloves will be provided. SMAC has a limited number of aprons available for use.
The fee for this workshop is $50 and includes all materials and instruction.
