"Rooted: The Art of Trees" Exhibit Submission Form

Southern Missouri Arts Connection (SMAC) invites artists to submit works that explore the theme of trees; from traditional to symbolic, conceptual to abstract. Trees have served as inspiration to artists for centuries as representations of spiritual concepts, the cycle of existence, shelter, wisdom, strength, growth, family lineage, cross-cultural connection, and more. There are no limits to creative imaginings or materials and media used to create artwork for this themed exhibit. 

 

Exhibition Guidelines:

●    Artists must complete the online application form through the SMAC website (smac-art.org) by February 15, 2026. Note: any photos submitted may be used in promotional materials.

●    One submission per artist

 

Entry Details:

●    Two-dimensional works must be ready to hang.

●    Call is open to artists creating work in painting, drawing, printmaking, mixed media, collage, photography, digital art, ceramics, textiles, and sculpture. AI generated work will not be accepted. 

 

Important Dates:

●    Entry deadline: Online application form must be completed by February 15, 2026

●    Delivery date: Artwork must arrive at SMAC Art Center Gallery, 7 Downing Street, Hollister, MO Saturday February 27, 2022, between 12-5 pm

●    Exhibition dates: March 6–28, 2026

●    Opening reception: Friday, March 6, 2026 from 6-9 pm.
